(ĐN)- Doctors of Dong Nai Childen Hospital have successfully performed an operation on a baby born with his liver outside abdomen.
After the 3-hour operation, the doctors have brought the whole liver of the seven-day-old baby, H.M.H, residing in Bien Hoa city’s Buu Long ward, into his abdomen.
Five days later, on February 7, the baby could suck 40 ml of milk and recovered.
According to Doctor Vu Cong tam, Head of the hospital’s Surgery Division, this is the rare case of liver hernia in Vietnam and has been treated sucessfully by the hospital.
