(ĐN)- Dong Nai Department of Health (DoH) on December 20 reported the second Zika infected case in the locality.
A 51-year-old patient residing in Tan Bien ward, Bien Hoa city tested positive to the mosquito-borne virus after showing symptoms of high fever, breaking out in the rash, and muscle pain. The patient is now in stable health condition.
The area was promptly cordoned off, mosquito larvae killed and chemicals sprayed to try and prevent an outbreak.
The first Zika-infected case in Dong Nai was a 24-year-old pregnant woman who is living in An Binh ward, Bien Hoa city.
Deputy Director Huynh Cao Hai of DoH predicts that in the coming time, Zika infections in the province may continue to rise.
