(ĐN)- Dengue fever is developing in a complex fashion in Dong Nai as the rainy weather is favouring the growth of mosquitoes, according to Department of Health (DoH).
The province reported 209 cases of dengue fever in September only, a month-on-month increase of 36 percent.
Recognising the risks, Director Huynh Minh Hoan of DoH suggested the health centres went to hamlets and inspected their prevention efforts. Accordingly, the centre staffs should visit locals’ houses to guide them in spraying chemicals killing mosquito and mosquito larvae and timely manage suspected infections.
The localities also need to step up measures on sanitation and environment, and boost communications campaigns to raise people’s awareness on disease prevention.
