(ĐN)- Dong Nai will take numerous measures to have 100 percent of students and over 76 percent of local residents getting health insurance this year.
To realise the targets, the health sector will focus on improving the quality of medical services and benefits for insured patients.
Moreover, communication work will be also promoted to raise the awareness of the Law on Health Insurance among labourers and enterprises.
According to the report from Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee, the number of people applying for health insurance has been on the rise over recent years. Particularly, those covered by health insurance in 2015 increased by 9.79 percent compared to 2014.
The revised Health Insurance Law stipulates that as from January 1, 2016, people with health insurance cards at district level can access checkups or treatments at any district-level health facility they want within their province, without requiring referral papers as before. They will also get full insurance cover for hospital expenses. The cardholders will benefit greatly from the amended law.
