(ĐN)- A ceremony was held on February 26 by Dong Nai Department of Health (DoH) to mark Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27) and deploy tasks for 2016.

Chairman Dinh Quoc Thai of the provincial People’s Committee, Deputy Secretary Phan Thi My Thanh of the provincial Party Committee and leaders from People’s Council, departments and agencies attended the event.

Speaking at the ceremony, Thai hailed comprehensive achievements the health sector has recorded over the past year, saying that this contributed to improving the health of the people. He hoped medical staff would continue bettering their profession, promoting initiatives and creativity, further contributing to the province’s development.


Director Huynh Minh Hoan of DoH said that the health sector would continue efforts to reach positive advancements with the health network at all levels becoming better and better. Accordingly, many advanced technologies will be applied to medical examinations and treatments, the rate of qualified medical staff will be increased in the coming time, he noted.


At the ceremony, Ministry of Health presented campaign medals to 122 individuals, the provincial People’s Committee also awarded certificates of merit to 43 collectives and and 143 individuals for their achievements in patriotic emulation movement in 2015. Director Huynh Minh Hoan of Dong Nai Department of Health received Hai Thuong Lan Ong Award of the MoH for his efforts to inherit, preserve and develop the traditional medicine sector.

On this occasion, the DoH expressed deep grateful to former leaders for their contributions to the health sector.
