New HIV cases reach 261 in nine months

(ĐN)- Dong Nai has discovered 261 more people living with HIV since the beginning of this year, 71 of which had progressed to full-blown AIDS while 5 others have died, according to Director Tran Trung Ta of the provincial Centre of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control.

The figure saw a decrease of 61 new cases compared to the same period of last year. The number of deaths caused by AIDS also saw a reducing trend in this period.

As of September, there were more than 4,700 people living with HIV in the province, over 1,900 of which had progressed to full-blown AIDS.
