Thong Nhat hospital's doctors reattach amputated hand

(ĐN)- Dong Nai-based Thong Nhat General Hospital's doctors have successfully reconnected the right hand of a 21-year-old woman in a eight-hour surgery, Nguyen Tuong Quang, Head of the hospital's Orthopaedic and Trauma Department said.

 

(ĐN)- Dong Nai-based Thong Nhat General Hospital’s doctors have successfully reconnected the right hand of a 21-year-old woman in a eight-hour surgery, Nguyen Tuong Quang, Head of the hospital’s Orthopaedic and Trauma Department said.

Earlier, on December 27, the woman, named Nguyen Thi My Dieu living in Vinh Cuu district’s Thanh Phu commune, had her hand cut off completely by a wood sawing machine. She was taken to the hospital in a blood loss situation.

Doctors diagnosed her health condition and gave her an emergency operation.

The patient has recovered and can already move the fingers slightly.
