So far, the province has 6,877 people infected with HIV, 3,042 of whom are in Bien Hoa city. Over the past time, more than 2,600 HIV-positive patients in the locality have access to antiretroviral (ARV) therapy. Recently, methadone maintenance treatment program has been carried out in the province, benefiting hundred of drug users.
The provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention Centre and Bien Hoa General Hospital is planning to expand methadone therapy to treat drug users in coming time.
