The disease, which has yet to be recorded in the province, has hit the Central Highlands and central provinces and killed three people in the southern provinces of Dong Thap, Khanh Hoa and Binh Phuoc so far this year.
There is a high risk of the H7N9 virus entering Vietnam, since the epidemic is developing in a complex fashion, not only on the Chinese mainland but also in Hong Kong and Taiwan.
The province’s People's Committee has allocated VND500 million for dealing with the avian influenza. The health sector has carried out drastic measures in Dong Nai in order to prevent all strains of avian influenza.
The sector has prepared 500 sets of clothes for the disease prevention as well as 2 tons of cloramin B, 300 doses of Taminflu and provided chemical spraying machines for local medical centers and hospitals.
