The provincial Health Department yesterday held a meeting to mark the event and honor doctors, nurses and medical staff for their contributions to the health sector.

At the event, 20 individuals were presented with the “Emeritus Physician” title while 18 others were awarded campaign medals of the Health Ministry, 3 collectives were awarded emulation flags of the provincial People’s Committee.

On this occasion, 10 students of Dong Nai Medical College received “Nguyen Van Ky” scholarships valued at VND3 million each.

On the occasion of the Vietnam Physicians’ Day, a private hospital in Bien Hoa city, namely Tam Hong Phuoc, organized a day to offer free medical check-ups and medicines fro 332 local people with the total cost of nearly VND150 million.

Since the beginning this year, Sai Gon-Dong Nai International Traumatology and Orthopedics (ITO) Hospital organized two programs to provide free medical check-ups and medicines for more than 400 poor people in Dinh Quan and Xuan Loc districts.
