(ĐN)- Dinh Quan district’s Agent Orange (AO)/dioxin Victims Association on August 22 held its second congress for the 2013-2018 tenure.
Over the past five years, the association has raised over VND3 billion from 383 businesses, organizations and 74 individuals, six-fold higher than its target, to help local AO/dioxin victims.
From the money, the association provided breeding pigs and feed to 20 local households of AO/dioxin victims, presented scholarships worth more than VND184 million to 92 AO affected students.
The association also mobilized more than VND24 billion to offer monthly allowances and presented 2,803 presents totaling over VND1 billion to the local victims.
The congress elected 19-member executive committee for the second term. Mr Duong Anh, Former Head of the Mass Mobilisation Department of the district’s Party Committee, was elected Chairman of the association.
