The event saw the participation of more than 500 doctors, nurses and students of Dong Nai Medical College.

Dengue fever is an infected disease and there is no effective vaccine for prevention and drug to kill the dengue virus.

The disease has been reported in many countries and territories, with about 2.5 billion people living in dengue-endemic areas. Of the number, about 1.8 billion are living in Asia-Pacific.

In Dong Nai alone, 1,031 dengue cases were reported in the first half this year with one death.

Bien Hoa city saw the highest number of dengue cases with 257 cases reported.

At the meeting, the Health Department leader stressed the need to enhance environmental sanitation, eliminate mosquito larva and raise public awareness to prevent the fever.
