(ĐN)- On April 9, Bien Hoa city’s Red Cross Chapter held a ceremony to review its blood donation campaign in 2012 and develop tasks for 2013.
Last year, the chapter launched 19 blood donation campaigns to collect 3,621 blood units, an increase of 121 units over the target.
More than 7,000 volunteers participated in the blood donation events; accordingly, Bien Hoa city-based Nam Ha and Ngo Quyen high schools had a large number of volunteers joining the events.
In 2013, the chapter will continue its efforts to raise local people’s awareness of the role of blood donation. It targets to mobilize 3,800 blood units this year.
Until now, the chapter collected 1,456 units of blood from local donors, fulfilling 38.5 percent of the year’s plan.
On this occasion, Bien Hoa city’s Red Cross Chapter awarded certificates of merit to units and individuals for their contributions to blood donation activities, presented 5 wheelchairs to disable people.
