On November 12, the Thong Nhat Hospital received patient Le Thi Huong, 77, from Long Binh Tan ward, Bien Hoa city. The woman was identified to die before she was brought to the hospital.

Doctors decided to transfer the body to the hospital’s morgue but a group of people who claimed the patient’s relatives disagreed.

A man carried the body to a taxi parking in the hospital courtyard. All hospital guards were mobilized to prevent the abnormal case. However, more than 30 people appeared and screamed, causing chaos.

After the clash between these people and hospital’s guards, the body was taken to another taxi which ran toward the Dong Nai Bridge.

Dr. Pham Van Dung, Director of Thong Nhat Hospital, said the woman had died before she was taken to the hospital and the cause of death is unknown.

According to regulations, only patients with clear causes of deaths are allowed to be carried home. Others must be put in the morgue waiting for the police’s investigation.

At least two guards were injured in the clash on November 12. The hospital reported the incident to Bien Hoa City Police for investigation.
