(ĐN)- An outbreak of petechial fever and hand, foot, mouth cases is threatening Dong Nai province, according to the Provincial Preventive Medicine Centre.
Since the beginning of the year, 627 petechial fever patients and 502 cases of hand-foot-mouth disease have been confirmed, five-fold and three-fold increases, respectively in comparison with the same period of last year.
Cases of the fever were on the rise in Bien Hoa city, Long Thanh and Xuan Loc districts.
The spread of the diseases in the future is difficult to predict. Accordingly, the Dong Nai Department of Health will launch action plans to fight the spread of petechial fever and hand-foot-mouth diseases in the coming time.
