(ĐN)- The number of children that contracted hand, foot and mouth disease (HFMD) is on the rise in Dong Nai province, according to the provincial Preventive Medicine Centre.
345 cases of the disease have been confirmed since the beginning of the year, a five-fold increase compared to the same period of last year.
Dr. Cao Trong Nguong, Director of the Preventive Medicine Centre further urged authorities to increase awareness about the disease and ways to avoid it to prevent its spreading out of control. The centre also guided localities to sterilise the areas around the patient's house and instructed those who had come into contact with the patient.
