Training in home-based care for people living with HIV/AIDS

(ĐN)- The Dong Nai provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention Centre held a training course on taking care of HIV/AIDS infected people at home in the province from September 12-13.

(ĐN)- The Dong Nai provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention Centre held a training course on taking care of HIV/AIDS infected people at home in the province from September 12-13. The course attracted the participation of 21 HIV specialists and those caring for people living with HIV/AIDS across the province.

According to the report from the provincial HIV/AIDS Prevention Centre, the total number of people infected with HIV in Dong Nai has reached 5,752 so far this year, with 2,189 of them in the AIDS stage. More than 1,300 people have died of the disease.  In the first half of this year alone, 224 people tested positive for HIV and another 115 developed to full-blown AIDS and 59 dead from the incurable disease. The number of HIV-AIDS sufferers in Dong Nai province is currently ranked sixth in the country.
