Hand, foot, mouth disease soars in Trang Bom district

By August 31, the district’s Medical Center confirmed 654 cases of HFMD with 3 fatal instances. Bac Son commune saw the highest number of cases with 115.

(ĐN)- Hand Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) is on the rise in in Trang Bom district, Dong Nai province.

By August 31, the district’s Medical Center confirmed 654 cases of HFMD with 3 fatal instances. Bac Son commune saw the highest number of cases with 115. The number of patients with hand, foot and mouth disease in Trang Bom district is currently ranked second in the province. In August alone, the number of patients with hand, foot and mouth disease in the district was 6.5 times higher than in 2010.

The district’s Steering Committee on Disease Prevention and Control has asked localities to speed up efforts in preventing and controlling the spread of hand-foot-mouth disease as well as focus on raising public awareness of the disease as well as encouraging sanitation work to control and prevent the disease from spreading throughout the district.
