As of August 30, a total of 4,117 cases of HFMD were reported in Dong Nai.
However, the disease is being controlled in the province.
In August alone, some 200 cases were found to be infected with the disease in the province every week, fell by about 28 per cent from over 300 cases every week in July.
The provincial health sector is urging related agencies and localties to take urgent measures to combat hand-foot-mouth disease with focus on stamping out "hot" spots, cleaning affected areas with chloramine B, improving public awareness on protecting children from the disease and taking proper care of infected children.
