Bien Hoa launches drive against dengue fever

(ĐN)- In view of the increased number of dengue fever cases in Bien Hoa city, the city's health sector launched a mosquito control campaign from September 10-11. Accordingly, the city sprayed chemicals in the seven wards of Long Binh, Long Binh Tan, Tan Hiep, Trang Dai, Tan Phong, Buu Long and An Binh  in order to kill the mosquitoes and mosquito larva and reduce the risk of dengue fever. In addition, the city also focus on increasing public awareness to prevent and control dengue fever.

As many as 1,612 volunteers distributed leaflets to every household in the city to show ways to kill mosquito larvae and prevent dengue fever. Prevention methods include using mosquitofish to kill mosquito larvae and removing mosquito breeding sites around the house.

 

Nearly 900 cases of dengue fever with one death have been reported in Bien Hoa city since the start of the year.
