(ĐN)- The Provincial heath sector has issued alert as hand-foot-mouth disease (HFMD) is surging in Dong Nai province.
Dong Nai has recorded 5,391 HFMD cases so far this year, including 22 fatalities.
Director of the Provincial Preventive Medicine Centre Cao Trong Nguong said Dong Nai saw a sharp increase in cases in late September. He also forcasts the number of cases will increase significantly in peak transmission season in late October.
Currently, Dong Nai is in need of another 24 tones of Chloramine B to provide families with children under age six to prevent the spread of the disease.
