(ĐN)- Dengue fever outbreaks are increasingly in Dong Nai province.

Nearly 2,500 dengue cases with five deaths  have been reported across Dong Nai province since the the start of the year, according to the Provincial Preventive Medicine Centre.

Cases of the fever were on the rise in Bien Hoa city, Long Khanh town, Long Thanh and Xuan Loc districts.
Mosquitoes are the main cause of the disease, which can lead to respiratory and digestive problems, and even death. The disease was attributed to bad and wet weather and poor living conditions, which created favourable breeding conditions for mosquitoes.

The Provincial Preventive Medicine Centre will launch an extensive mosquito control campaign before schedule. Accordingly, medical staff in the province will spray chemicals in the affected areas in order to kill the mosquitoes and mosquito larva and reduce the risk of dengue fever.
