Ishikawa Metal Processing Co., Ltd. (Bien Hoa ward), a small- and medium-sized enterprise operating in mechanical engineering and supporting industries, specializes in precision machining of industrial machine parts such as worm gears, shafts, gears, fans, threaded rods, hinges, screen bars, rollers, guide pins, wheels, and components ranging from basic to fully assembled parts.
According to Director Vu Van Chien, the company is striving to diversify its product lines while investing in machinery and technology under the principle of “caution in every step” to ensure product quality aligns with customer requirements. He also emphasized the need for stronger trade promotion and linkages facilitated by the State with domestic and international manufacturing partners. Only through production collaboration and long-term partnerships, he said, can businesses grow sustainably and remain competitive against foreign enterprises producing similar products in Vietnam.
Resolution 57-NQ/TW, dated December 22, 2024, of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, sets the goal that by 2030, Vietnam will be among the top three Southeast Asian countries in artificial intelligence research and development, and a hub for several digital technology industries where Vietnam has advantages.
Similarly, in the food processing and consumer goods sectors, companies face pressure from green consumption trends and stringent environmental regulations in key markets. GC Food Joint Stock Company (GC Food – Ho Nai Industrial Park) has developed a closed-loop model from raw material areas to processing and distribution to optimize environmental protection standards. GC Food Chairman Nguyen Van Thu said the company prioritizes developing high-value-added product lines such as processed aloe vera, packaged nata de coco tailored to partner requirements, and various toppings for the beverage industry. These products not only meet safety standards but are also designed to be environmentally friendly and easy to process.
According to Le Phuoc Van, Director of Hanh Gia Management Consulting Co., Ltd. (Ho Chi Minh City), many Vietnamese enterprises still primarily engage in outsourcing and rarely focus on product design. In contrast, foreign-invested enterprises (FDI) are more effective in this regard, as they possess superior technology, skilled human resources, and comprehensive solutions.
To drive innovation, domestic firms must shift their production models, invest in modern equipment, and leverage external resources to enhance productivity, move toward standardized production, and embrace innovation. Equally important is investment in human capital, improving workforce quality to master advanced technologies. These, Van emphasized, are non-negotiable requirements for businesses seeking long-term, sustainable development.

Dong Nai is home to tens of thousands of active businesses. However, apart from FDI firms and a few large domestic groups, technology investment, particularly in digital transformation, is still at an early stage. Pham Viet Phuong, Deputy Head in charge of the Dong Nai Industrial and Economic Zones Authority (DIEZA), noted that enterprises face difficulties in this matter due to high transformation costs. Meanwhile, preferential loans and financial support policies are not easily accessible. Therefore, more favorable incentive and support policies are needed to enable businesses to access them more easily. Moreover, it is necessary to consider and study the establishment of a digital transformation support fund for enterprises in industrial parks and economic zones.
Dong Nai will intensify efforts to encourage enterprises to innovate technologies, apply digital transformation in production and business, and deploy support solutions in the near future. Vo Hoang Khai, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, said that in recent times, the department has worked closely with stakeholders to implement training programs on digital transformation for businesses. The department stands ready to coordinate with the DIEZA to connect enterprises with technology innovation content and invite experts to deliver training courses for local companies.
