Strong party, trusted people, Chon Thanh ward develops sustainably

On the morning of August 11, the 1st Congress of the Chon Thanh Ward Party Committee, term 2025-2030, officially convened its official working session. Member of the the Dong Nai Party Committee’s Standing Board and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission Nguyen Minh Hoi attended and delivered a directive speech.

Also present were Provincial Party Committee member and Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Dong Nai People’s Committee Pham Thuy Luan; representatives of leadership from provincial Party Committee’s Party Departments and Office; former Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and former Chairwoman of the former Binh Phuoc People’s Committee Tran Tue Hien; Heroic Vietnamese Mother Nguyen Thi Ngung; and 152 official delegates representing 1,056 Party members of the ward’s Party Committee.

Chon Thanh Ward was established from the merger of three former wards: Hung Long, Minh Thanh, and Thanh Tam, with a natural area of 124.41 square kilometers and a population of more than 43,789. During the 2020–2025 term, the Party Executive Committee, together with Party members and residents of the wards, made concerted efforts to fulfill all 61 targets set by the previous congress resolution, exceeding 15 of them.

The ward’s economy maintained solid growth. Its total state budget revenue for 2020–2025 reached VND 374.86 billion. People’s living standards stabilized, with incomes rising significantly. The ward hosts three industrial parks, driving labor restructuring and creating opportunities for future growth in trade, services, and urban development. Commerce and services have expanded strongly, meeting local consumer demand.

The ward has focused on agricultural production following green and clean models under VietGAP and OCOP standards, applying high technology and promoting production linkages. The development of advanced new-style rural areas has progressed synchronously.

At the same time, Party building and strengthening the political system were emphasized. Every year, 100% of the subordinate Party cells completed tasks well or better, with the Party Committee rated as fulfilling its duties well. Over the term, 117 new Party members were admitted, surpassing the assigned target. The works of Party inspection, supervision and discipline were strengthened, while mass mobilization was promoted. Political security and social order were maintained, with national defense and security ensured.

Delivering his guidance at the congress, Member of the Provincial Standing Party Committee and Head of the Internal Affairs Commission Nguyen Minh Hoi endorsed Chon Thanh’s five key tasks and three breakthrough programs for the new term. He urged the congress to focus on crucial priorities such as: recognizing the ward’s Party Committee as the direct superior level, leading comprehensively across all aspects of local socio-political life; building an effective and efficient government that is close to and engaged with the people; continuing to promote fast and sustainable economic development while improving people’s material and spiritual lives; ensuring cultural and social progress in step with economic growth; enhancing education and training quality; caring for public health; strengthening national defense and security; and safeguarding political stability and social order.

At the congress, Member of the Dong Nai Party Committee’s Standing Board and Head of the Provincial Party Committee’s Internal Affairs Commission Nguyen Minh Hoi presented a banner from the Provincial Party Executive Committee with the message: “Solidarity – innovation – Building Chon Thanh Ward towards sustainable development,” as well as a floral basket from the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee to congratulate the event.

The congress adopted its Resolution for the 2025–2030 term, outlining key development directions. Targets include building Chon Thanh into a dynamic, ecological, and smart ward by 2030, with the largest industrial development scale in northern Dong Nai; achieving an annual Party membership growth rate of 3% or more; increasing average annual state budget revenue growth by 12%; maintaining poverty reduction at 1–1.5% per year; and placing the ward among the top 20 localities in administrative procedure resolution on the National Public Service Portal.
