On August 12, the official session of the first Party Congress of Dak O Commune for the 2025-2030 term took place, with the participation of 170 delegates representing more than 324 Party members across the commune’s Party Committee. Colonel Vo Thanh Danh, the Provincial Standing Party Committee member and Commander of the Dong Nai Military Command, attended and delivered his direction.
Also present was Nguyen Thi Hoang, the Provincial Party Committee member and Vice Chairwoman of Dong Nai People’s Committee.

Dak O Commune covers more than 246 square kilometers and houses a population of over 19,000, including 14 ethnic groups living together, contributing to a diverse and rich cultural landscape.
During the 2020-2025 term, Dak O’s economy has maintained stable growth, averaging around 6% annually. Per capita income has reached 53 million VND per year, marking a significant improvement in the material well-being of residents. Meanwhile, the poverty rate has dropped to 2.41%.
Alongside economic growth, rural transport infrastructure, electricity, clean water systems, as well as educational and healthcare facilities in the commune have been upgraded, improving quality of life of local residents and facilitating daily activities and production. National defense and security have been firmly maintained.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Dak O Commune Party Committee sets the goal of innovation, breakthrough, and sustainable development, with 17 key targets. These include increasing per capita income by 30% and reducing the poverty rate to below 2%.
The Party Committee also identifies two strategic breakthroughs, including concentrating resources on building rural transport infrastructure and inter-regional roads connected to the international border gate to promote trade; and developing high-tech and organic agriculture tied to market consumption.

Addressing the congress, Colonel Vo Thanh Danh urged the commune Party Committee to continue building a clean and strong grassroots political system, innovate leadership methods, and enhance the effectiveness of governance under the new model. He stressed the importance of sustainable economic development, leveraging agricultural strengths, promoting organic and high-tech production, building agricultural brands and new-style cooperatives, and increasing investment in essential infrastructure, especially in transport, healthcare, and education. He also emphasized comprehensive development in ethnic minority areas, while safeguarding national defense, security, and border stability as a foundation for sustainable socio-economic growth.
