Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Bau Ham Commune Le Huy Thiem said the expansion of development space and resources has created favorable conditions for the locality to pursue green and sustainable development in the coming time.
Focusing on “three breakthroughs”
Bau Ham Commune was established through the merger of four communes of Song Thao, Bau Ham, Thanh Binh and Cay Gao. Despite numerous difficulties and challenges in recent years, most of the targets set by the Party Committees of the former communes for the 2020–2025 tenure were achieved or surpassed. The economy posted stable growth, state budget revenue generally met or exceeded assigned targets, and all communes completed the advanced new-style rural development criteria, significantly changing the rural landscape. These results provide the foundation and momentum for Bau Ham’s development in the next phase.
According to Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Council of Bau Ham Commune Le Huy Thiem, after the merger, Bau Ham Commune has been expanded in multiple aspects, especially in natural land area and population scale. This gives the commune greater potential for agricultural production. The expansion of development space and resources, including land, human resources, technical and social infrastructure, offers opportunities for Bau Ham to adjust planning and mobilize resources for green and sustainable growth.
At its 1st Party Congress for the 2025–2030 tenure recently, the Bau Ham Commune set out eight key tasks, three breakthrough areas, and five major solutions tailored to its potential, advantages, and sustainable development requirements.
The three breakthroughs include: administrative reform and digital transformation; development of rural infrastructure; and development of high-tech, circular agriculture. Specifically, the commune plans to mobilize and efficiently use investment resources to develop rural infrastructure, particularly upgrading transportation and electricity networks, thereby creating new drivers for socio-economic development. At the same time, Bau Ham will focus on restructuring crops and livestock suitable to local conditions and market demand, encourage large-scale organic production, expand safe and biosecure farming models, and build brands for local OCOP (One Commune, One Product) items.
United for a common goal
Bau Ham Commune has also set specific targets for the new tenure, including an average annual state budget revenue growth of over 5%; an average annual increase of 7.15% in total production value; at least three OCOP products rated three-stars or higher; and per capita income by 2030 rising 32.77% compared to 2025.
To achieve these goals, the entire political system is striving to play its role and responsibility, united for the common purpose.
Tran Sy Quang, Secretary of Thuan Truong Hamlet’s Party Cell, shared that in the coming time, the hamlet will follow the Commune Party Committee’s guidance to step up communications on building model residential areas, thereby promoting collective strength among local officials, Party members, and residents. The hamlet will continue to ensure social welfare, maintain poverty-free status, enhance rural beautification and environmental protection, and create a “bright, green, clean, beautiful” landscape. Attention will also be paid to maintaining and upgrading cultural facilities, while ensuring social order and security in the community.
Attending and delivering his direction at the 1st Party Congress of Bau Ham Commune, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Dong Nai People’s Committee Vo Tan Duc requested that the commune maximize its advantages in combination with promoting internal strengths, boost economic and scientific-technological development, and protect the environment. He emphasized the need to restructure agriculture in line with innovation in growth models, organize production along value chains, apply science and technology, and improve labor productivity. The commune was also urged to strengthen planning, investment, construction, and land management.
Tran Van Nghi, Deputy Chief of Bau Ham Commune Police, noted that the police force will enhance efforts on situation monitoring, crime prevention, and law enforcement. The focus will be on applying information technology in residence management and security monitoring, installing and operating security camera systems along major roads, complex areas, and densely populated zones. These measures aim to improve residence management efficiency, create breakthroughs in monitoring and crime prevention, and ensure security and order in service of the commune’s sustainable development.
