At the end of December 2025, the Dong Nai provincial People’s Committee issued Document No. 12486/UBND-KGVX, officially approving the policy to establish the Dong Nai provincial men’s volleyball team. The decision was based on a proposal from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, which assessed the need to revive one of the province’s traditionally strong sports.

The Dong Nai men’s volleyball team includes a head of delegation, a five-member coaching staff consisting of a head coach and assistant coaches, and 14 athletes. The head of the delegation is Huynh Truc Phuong, Deputy Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center gymnasium. The head coach is Duong Tan Vinh, who led the Ho Chi Minh City Police men’s volleyball team in the previous season. Standout players on the Dong Nai roster include Nguyen Dinh Nhu (national team member) and Lam Van Sanh (former national team member). Tran Dinh Quy was named Best Attacking Player at the 2024 National A-League Volleyball Championship.

With a strong lineup, the Dong Nai men’s volleyball team sets the goal of winning the top position at the 2026 National A-League Volleyball Championship to secure promotion and return to the most prestigious competition, the national championship, in the following year.

The qualifying round of the 2026 National A-League Volleyball Championship will take place from May 16 to 30 at the Dien Bien provincial sports gymnasium. The tournament will bring together 14 men’s teams nationwide to compete for places in the final round. The final round of the National Division A Volleyball Championship 2026 will be held in December in Thai Nguyen province.
