With around three weeks remaining until the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026, historic sites, scenic spots, communal houses, pagodas, and cultural spaces across the province are being renovated and spruced up by authorities, agencies, and localities in preparation for welcoming the new spring of 2026.

Beyond enhancing the landscape for the Lunar New Year, these activities also help preserve heritage values, raise community awareness, and create cultural highlights that serve people as they go on spring outings and celebrate the nation's traditional Tet holiday.
Renovating relic sites
In the final days of January 2026, at the national relic site Tran Bien Temple of Literature, staff from the Site Management and Exploitation Division, in coordination with the Youth Union of the Dong Nai Provincial Museum, actively cleaned walkways, carefully pruned leaves, and gave a “fresh look” to apricot blossom trees while preparing decorations for the temple grounds. Long-standing yellow apricot trees, carefully tended, are ready to bloom in time for Tet, promising a vibrant spring atmosphere at the temple.
In Loc Ninh Commune, the Commune People’s Committee has reported several restoration needs at historical sites, including the Loc Ninh military airfield and the C31 Slope, to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Proposed work includes repairs, environmental sanitation, and tree maintenance to ensure both aesthetics and safety for residents and visitors.
Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Museum Nguyen Ngoc Yen said that: “Restoring historic sites and decorating Tet spaces is an annual activity of the museum and heritage sites. This year, plans were prepared early, with decorative concepts designed for the museum, the Temple of Literature, and other locations to create spring-themed landscapes serving residents and visitors during Tet.”

To strengthen heritage management and organize activities honoring the Communist Party and celebrating the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Vu Thanh Ngu issued a document requesting that units and localities managing historic sites refrain from carrying out repair, renovation or construction projects within protected heritage zones (Zone I and Zone II) without approval from competent state authorities. They are also required to conduct cleaning activities, display the national flag, and ensure the visual integrity of heritage sites.
At the same time, security and fire prevention measures are to be reinforced at historic sites, with readiness to promptly respond to disorderly behavior, harassment of visitors, or fire incidents during the Tet holiday, especially at sites associated with religious and belief activities. Notably, the acceptance or offering of artifacts at historic sites in violation of legal regulations is strictly prohibited.
Creating cultural destinations for spring festivities
Alongside heritage site spruce-up, many localities across the province have simultaneously launched activities to decorate cultural and urban spaces in celebration of the Communist Party and the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026.
In Tran Bien ward, local authorities are implementing decoration projects along April 30 Street and at the Hoa An Bridge roundabout, while conducting surveys and coordinating with departments and agencies to prepare for construction and the artistic mural painting on three bridge pillars at Hoa An Bridge. Notably, the ward is organizing a Cultural and Culinary Space Decoration and Exhibition Contest under the theme “Traditional Vietnamese Tet in modern life”, attracting around 40 teams and offering a vibrant experience space of traditional Tet customs.
According to the cultural, sports and tourism activity plan to honoring the Party and celebrating the Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026, from February 7 to 26 (from the 20th day of the last lunar month of At Ty to the 10th day of the first lunar month of Binh Ngo), a series of historic sites across the province are being cleaned, renovated, decorated with Tet-themed mini landscapes and staff will be mobilized to serve visitors and worshippers. These include the front area of the Dong Nai Provincial Museum, Binh Phuoc Cultural Space, Tran Bien Temple of Literature, Nguyen Huu Canh Temple, Tan Hiep Prison, and Binh Truoc meeting house.
Similarly, in Tan Khai commune, urban beautification efforts are underway along key East–West roads and National Highway 13, from the toll station to Tan Kiet gas station. Banners, panels, and slogans celebrating the Party and the spring season are arranged in a balanced and visually appealing manner. A standout feature is the Binh Ngo 2026 zodiac mascot model and Tet-themed miniatures displayed at the commune’s central park, creating a communal space for residents to gather and take commemorative photos.
According to Vice Chairman of the Tan Khai Commune People’s Committee Nguyen Viet Doi, in addition to Tet decorations, the locality is carrying out environmental sanitation and waste collection, as well as inspecting, repairing, and replacing damaged lighting equipment and stone benches at parks and public areas. All Tet decoration work is scheduled for completion before February 7 (the 20th day of the last lunar month), ensuring progress, aesthetics, and safety.
Meanwhile, Tam Phuoc ward is setting up Tet-themed miniatures at the Ward People’s Committee headquarters, organizing a mini landscape decoration contest, and encouraging neighborhoods, agencies, units, and residents to join efforts in cleaning and beautifying their living spaces, thereby promoting a civilized urban lifestyle. Many households have voluntarily raised the national flag, planted more flowers, and helped maintain public hygiene. Though modest in scale, these actions contribute to shaping a bright, green, clean, and beautiful appearance for the locality.
The Lunar New Year of Binh Ngo 2026 is fast approaching. As the spring atmosphere gradually emerges, each historical site, cultural space, and destination across Dong Nai becomes a place that reflects the people’s trust, pride, and hope for a peaceful, joyful, and prosperous new year.
