Dong Nai residents welcome New Year 2026 in joyful and festive atmosphere

Joining the upbeat atmosphere welcoming New Year 2026, residents across many localities in Dong Nai province enthusiastically took part in and enjoyed a wide range of cultural and artistic activities, fireworks displays and mobile cinema screenings, creating a lively and cheerful festive mood.

On the evening of December 31, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Dong Nai Delegation of National Assembly Deputies Vu Hong Van together with members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, the Provincial Party Executive Committee, representatives of provincial departments and agencies, local leaders, and thousands of residents and visitors, attended the New Year 2026 countdown program along the Dong Nai River route in Tran Bien ward. The program featured a series of outstanding art performances by artists from the Dong Nai Arts Theater and Ho Chi Minh City, along with a fireworks display marking the moment of transition into the new year, lighting up hopes for a peaceful, happy and successful new spring.

At March 23 Square in Binh Phuoc ward, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism coordinated with the Binh Phuoc ward People’s Committee to organize a special art program themed Dong Nai welcomes New Year 2026 on the evening of December 31, 2025. In addition to stage performances, the program featured lion–dragon dances, a New Year countdown and an artistic flare display, attracting large crowds from all walks of life. These activities helped create a joyful, exciting and united atmosphere, inspiring confidence and aspirations for a more prosperous and civilized Dong Nai.

Many wards and communes across the province simultaneously organized New Year celebration programs such as: Countdown Tam Hiep 2026; Countdown Song Ray 2026; New Year’s Eve Festival 2026 in Long Khanh ward; and the vegetarian food festival themed “Sharing vegetarian meals – Warmth of solidarity” in Tan Hung commune. Notably, on the morning of January 1, the Tam Hiep ward People’s Committee solemnly held the first flag-raising ceremony of 2026. In this meaningful moment, the locality also released doves, symbolizing hopes for a peaceful, happy, united and developing new year.

To welcome New Year 2026, historical and cultural sites across the province such as Tran Bien Temple of Literature, Ong Pagoda, Tan Lan Communal House, and the Dong Xoai Victory Monument welcomed residents and visitors throughout the New Year holiday to explore Dong Nai’s cultural and historical heritage.

Seven mobile cinema teams of the Dong Nai Center for Culture and Cinema simultaneously organized free large-screen film screenings to serve residents during the New Year 2026 holiday. Red Rain was selected for screening, attracting tens of thousands of viewers.

On this occasion, inspectors from the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also stepped up inspections of cultural, sports and tourism activities and services, especially festival events at historical and cultural sites, tourist areas and places of worship. People’s Committees of wards and communes across the province coordinated with relevant departments and agencies to strengthen security and public order and regulate traffic on roads hosting countdown events, ensuring a safe and civilized New Year celebration for residents and visitors.
