Closing ceremony of 31st National Cross-Country Mountain-Climbing Tournament “Conquering Ba Ra Peak” in 2026

On the morning of January 4, the 31st National Cross-Country Mountain-Climbing Tournament “Conquering Ba Ra Peak” in 2026 identified the most outstanding athletes in all competition categories.

Attending the closing ceremony were: Vice President of the Vietnam Athletics Federation Nguyen Trung Hinh; Member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Vice Chairman of the Dong Nai province People’s Committee Le Truong Son; former Member of the Provincial Party Committee’s Standing Board, Vice Chairman of the Binh Phuoc province People’s Committee Nguyen Van Thoa; Provincial Party Committee member, Director of the Dong Nai province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Le Thi Ngoc Loan, along with former leaders of Binh Phuoc province and Phuoc Long town through different periods.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of Dong Nai Newspaper and Radio, Television Cao Quoc Sang, Standing Deputy Head of the organizing committee, affirmed that after more than three decades of organization, the National Cross-Country Mountain-Climbing Tournament “Conquering Ba Ra Peak” has become one of the traditional and prestigious tournaments of Vietnamese athletics, carrying profound historical, cultural and noble sporting values.

“From the persistent strides of the mass movement system to the breathtaking sprints of the elite athletes, the organizing committee recorded victorious smiles, drops of hard-earned sweat, and the noble sporting spirit of all athletes,” Cao Quoc Sang shared.

This year, the tournament attracted more than 2,500 athletes. The professional quality was highly rated, with the participation of many outstanding figures in Vietnamese athletics, including Hoang Nguyen Thanh, Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa, Trinh Quoc Luong, and Pham Thi Hong Le. The athletes delivered intense, fair, and sportsmanlike performances.

Cao Quoc Sang affirmed that the success of the tournament was the result of the attention and guidance from Dong Nai provincial leaders, local authorities, and the joint efforts and contributions of sponsoring units, along with the dedicated and tireless work of referees, medical staff, security forces, and service teams.

The 31st National Cross-Country Mountain-Climbing Tournament “Conquering Ba Ra Peak” in 2026 was chaired by Dong Nai Newspaper, Radio and Television, in coordination with the Dong Nai province Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Phuoc Long ward People’s Committee, and the Phuoc Binh ward People’s Committee.

The title of King of mountain climbing this year went to athlete Hoang Nguyen Thanh of the host Dong Nai. The title of Queen of mountain climbing was awarded to athlete Pham Thi Hong Le (Gia Lai province).

The First prize in the national young men’s individual category was claimed by athlete Duong Minh Hung (Army delegation). Meanwhile, the First prize in the national young women’s individual category went to athlete Nguyen Thi Thanh Tuyen (Lam Dong province). In the national men’s mass movement individual category (19km), athlete Hang A Giang took First prize, while in the national women’s mass movement individual category, First prize was awarded to athlete Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong.

The organizing committee also presented overall team prizes. In the elite system, the First Prize was awarded to the Army delegation, the Second Prize to the Lai Chau delegation, and the host, Dong Nai, took the Third Prize. In the provincial mass movement system, the overall First prize went to Phuoc Binh ward, the Second prize to Phuoc Long ward, and the Third prize to Bu Gia Map commune.
