For Thanh, this is a traditional event of his home province, and since he represents the provincial athletics team, he is determined to become the "king of mountain climbing" once again. It can be affirmed that over the past five years, the name Hoang Nguyen Thanh has become widely recognized in Vietnam’s full marathon distance, as he is the most outstanding runner. Specifically, with six consecutive national championship titles at the Tien Phong Marathon, along with one gold and one bronze medal at the SEA Games, and numerous titles from other prestigious tournaments, he has firmly established his position. However, for Hoang Nguyen Thanh, the National Ba Ra Mountain Climbing Tournament always holds special meaning, as it is the race that built the foundation of his brand and success. “The race to conquer the peak of Ba Ra is always an unforgettable mark… In the early days of athletics, this race created the foundation and courage for Thanh to conquer many other prestigious tournaments later and be selected for the national team to contribute to the country’s sports,” Hoang Nguyen Thanh confided.
