National Sailing Championship 2025 kicks off in Dong Nai

On the morning of November 6, athletes officially began competing in the 2025 National Sailing Championship, held at Tri An Lake, Tri An commune, Dong Nai province.

The race is organized by the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Vietnam Sports Administration and the Vietnam Canoeing, Rowing and Sailing Federation. The event takes place from November 6 to 8 on Tri An Lake, drawing eight teams from across the country: Public Security, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Thai Nguyen, Ha Tinh, Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City, and host Dong Nai, with nearly 100 athletes competing. Participants will compete in 10 events for men, women, and mixed teams, including five men's events (Optimist, Laser 7 (ILCA 7), Laser 6 (ILCA 6), Laser 4 (ILCA 4), 4700), four women's events (Optimist, Laser 6 (ILCA 6), Laser 4 (ILCA 4), 4700), and one mixed-gender event (470).

On the first day, November 6, athletes competed in rounds 1 and 2 of women’s Optimist, men’s ILCA7, women’s ILCA6, men’s ILCA6, as well as rounds 1 and 2 of men’s Optimist, men’s ILCA4, women’s ILCA4, and round 1 of 470. On November 7 and 8, they will continue with the following rounds to determine the final rankings.

At the end of the championship, the organizing committee will present medals to athletes achieving high rankings and overall flags to the top three teams on the medal table.

According to the organizers, the championship is intended to provide a platform for athletes and sailing enthusiasts from within and outside the province to meet, exchange experiences, and learn from one another. It also serves to promote the image, tourism potential, and cultural heritage of Dong Nai province to people across the country.
