Concluding the 2025 National Jujitsu Outstanding Athletes Championship, the Dong Nai Jujitsu team delivered a standout performance by claiming overall first place, affirming its position as one of the leading centers of Vietnamese Jujitsu today.

Breakthrough, impressive achievements
The Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, for the second time, coordinated with the Vietnam Sports Administration under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Jujitsu Federation to host the 2025 National Jujitsu Outstanding Athletes Championship, which took place from October 17 to 24 at the Gymnasium of the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center. The tournament gathered more than 200 athletes from 16 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide, competing for 76 sets of medals in main categories including: Newaza Gi, Newaza NoGi, Fighting, Contact, and Duo Show/Classic.

Leveraging the home advantage, the Dong Nai Jujitsu team delivered an impressive performance in the tournament, which was hosted locally for the second time, earning an outstanding 17 gold medals (GMs), 14 silver medals (SMs), and 25 bronze medals (BMs). With this achievement, the team officially secured first place overall, surpassing many strong contenders, including Thai Nguyen, Hung Yen, Ho Chi Minh City, Nghe An, and the People's Public Security.

The Dong Nai team also excelled in two competition categories. Specifically, Dong Nai led the Contact category with 6 GMs, 3 SMs, 5 BMs, and topped the Fighting category with 5 GMs, 6 SMs, 8 BMs. In addition, Dong Nai ranked second in the Duo, Show, Newaza NoGi, and Newaza Gi categories. Compared to 2024 (when the team ranked second overall with 6 GMs, 7 SMs, 11 BMs in Ha Nam), this year's achievement of Dong Nai Jujitsu is a remarkable breakthrough.

Among the outstanding athletes, three standout competitors each achieved a hat-trick of gold medals (GMs): Le Xuan Truong, Lo Thi Phung, and Tran Thi Hoang Van. Specifically, Le Xuan Truong secured three GMs in the men's 52kg category in Newaza Gi, Newaza NoGi, and Contact, along with a bronze medal (BM) in Fighting. Lo Thi Phung claimed three GMs in the women's 52kg category: Newaza Gi, Newaza NoGi, and Contact. Tran Thi Hoang Van earned three GMs in the women's 42kg category, including Fighting, Contact, and Women's Duo Show (with Trinh Thi Hoang Anh).
Athlete Lo Thi Phung shared: "I am very happy and proud to have won 3 GMs at this year's tournament. This achievement is thanks to the dedicated care and guidance of my teachers and the wholehearted support from the leadership of the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center."

Commenting on the achievements of the Dong Nai delegation at this year's tournament, Tran Thai Son, in charge of the Dong Nai Jujitsu department, said: "This is a well-deserved reward for the diligent training days and the persistent efforts of the coaches and athletes of the Dong Nai Jujitsu team. The athletes competed with all their hearts, with the pride of bearing the name of Dong Nai."
A boost for Dong Nai Jujitsu
Being chosen to host the 2025 National Jujitsu Outstanding Athletes Championship is not only an honor but also an opportunity to affirm the organizational capacity and development of the sports movement in Dong Nai. For the second time hosting, Dong Nai has demonstrated professional, methodical, and successful organizational capabilities.

Thorough preparation, strong determination, and the home-field advantage provided a powerful boost, enabling Dong Nai Jujitsu martial artists to compete with confidence and composure, resulting in an impressive haul of 17 gold medals, 14 silver medals, and 25 bronze medals, as well as the overall championship title.
Previously, Dong Nai Jujitsu also dominated the 2025 National Youth Age Group Championship (taking place from May 10 to 20) with 31 gold medals, 38 silver medals, 54 bronze medals, and the overall first place in the National Youth Jujitsu Championship (taking place from August 5 to 12 in Da Nang) with 9 gold medals, 8 silver medals, 10 bronze medals - completing a "hat-trick of titles" this year.

The brilliant achievements at the 2025 Outstanding Athlete Awards are a testament to the training capacity, competitive spirit, strategic investment, and strong development momentum of Dong Nai sports.
Bui Anh Vu, Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center, affirmed: "These results are clear evidence of the correct direction of the provincial sports sector: sustainable investment, balanced development across all age groups, and creation of a professional competitive environment for athletes."
With its continuous achievements, Dong Nai Jujitsu is becoming a bright spot in the Vietnamese martial arts movement, a source of pride that contributes to further advancing the province's sports on the national and regional Jujitsu map.
