Dong Nai claims one gold medal at the 2025 National Boxing Championship

The Dong Nai boxing team concluded the 2025 National Boxing Championship in Ho Chi Minh City with one gold medal and six bronze medals.

The 2025 National Boxing Championship, organized by the Vietnam Sports Administration (under MoCST) in coordination with the Vietnam Boxing Federation and the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports, ended on the evening of October 11 at the Tan Thuan Ward Culture and Sports Services Center (Ho Chi Minh City).

Competing with a delegation of 19 athletes, the Dong Nai boxing team concluded the tournament with 1 gold medal and 6 bronze medals. This year, Dong Nai boxing delivered a stronger performance, earning 2 more bronze medals than in 2024.

Athlete Vu Thanh Dat continued his winning form with a gold medal in the men's 63.5kg weight class, age group 19–40, thereby successfully defending his 2024 title and securing the only gold medal for Dong Nai boxing.

Meanwhile, the 6 bronze medals of Dong Nai boxing belonged to athletes: Nguyen Tien Huu (46kg men's weight class), Hoang Trung Nguyen (71kg men's), Nguyen Tri Dung (86kg in the 17-18 age group) and Huynh Ngoc Yen Phuong (70kg women's), Nguyen Thi Tram Anh (75kg women's), Nguyen Thi Nhu Quynh (81kg women's) in the 19-40 age group.

The 2025 National Boxing Championship took place from October 4 to 11, bringing together 29 delegations and nearly 375 athletes. Competitors faced off in 54 weight categories, divided into two age groups, 17–18 and 19–40, for both men and women.

According to the Organizing Committee, the 2025 National Boxing Championship is not only a premier stage for boxers to showcase their skills, but also a key opportunity for experts to review and select outstanding athletes in preparation for the 33rd SEA Games in Thailand.
