Dong Nai athletes secured third place overall in the 17–40 age group at the 2025 National Muay Thai Championship, winning 3 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze medals.

The championship concluded on the evening of September 6 in Thai Nguyen province, co-organized by the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Sports Administration.
At the closing ceremony, organizers awarded 108 medals across various weight classes and categories. Athletes from Dong Nai in the 17–40 age group delivered a strong performance, securing third place overall with a medal haul of 3 gold, 3 silver, and 7 bronze. In the 15–16 age group, Dong Nai also earned three bronze medals in the women’s 60kg and 51kg, and men’s 54kg categories. This year’s results marked a significant improvement over the 2024 championship, where the team only won 1 gold and 1 silver medal.

The gold medalists for Dong Nai were: Nguyen Hoang Son in the Waikru performance event, Tran Hoang Long in the men’s 67kg weight class, and Nguyen Van Chien in the men’s 86kg weight class. The silver medals came in the men’s 48kg, women’s 57kg, and men’s 51kg categories.
In the 17–40 age group, Hanoi claimed the overall championship title, with Ho Chi Minh City placing second. In the 15–16 age group, Hanoi once again took first place, followed by Thanh Hoa in second and host province Thai Nguyen in third.
The 2025 National Muay Thai Championship took place from September 3 to 6 at the Thai Nguyen Provincial Sports Arena, drawing over 300 athletes and coaches from 23 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide. Competitors vied for medals in 40 combat events and 4 performance events. In the 15–16 age group, weight classes ranged from 43–81kg for men and 43–67kg for women, while in the 17–40 age group, from 45–91kg for men and 45–75kg for women.
