Van Tam Dong Nai finishes as runner-up at the National U9 Football Championship – Toyota Cup 2025

After a 1-2 loss to U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa in the final, U9 Van Tam Dong Nai claimed the runner-up title at the National U9 Football Championship – Toyota Cup 2025.

On the afternoon of August 25, at Tay Ninh Province’s Sports Arena, the final match of the National U9 Football Championship – Toyota Cup 2025 took place between U9 Viet Hung Thanh Hoa (VHTH) and U9 Van Tam Dong Nai (VTĐN).

Entering the final, both teams showed strong determination, creating an exciting back-and-forth battle as they constantly launched attacks on each other’s goal. However, neither side managed to score, due to the opposing defenses’ excellent performances. In a tightly contested game, VHTH unexpectedly broke the deadlock from a set-piece situation. In the 20th minute, from a teammate’s corner kick, Ha Son Binh struck a beautiful volley to open the scoring for his team.

In the second half, VTĐN pushed forward in search of an equalizer. However, before they could level the score, they conceded one more goal. In the 24th minute, receiving the ball unmarked, Trinh Ngoc Bao Anh skillfully dribbled the ball past a defender before striking past the VTĐN goalkeeper to extend VHTH’s lead to 2-0.

Trailing by two goals, VTĐN had no choice but to attack harder in pursuit of scoring opportunities. Their efforts were rewarded when Bach Tan Loc shone with a goal that narrowed the gap. Receiving the ball from his own half, Tan Loc made a powerful run, dribbling past two defenders before lofting the ball over the goalkeeper, scoring in the 30th minute to narrow the deficit to 1-2.
In the remaining minutes, VTĐN gave their all, looking for a 2-2 equalizer. However, VHTH held firm to secure a 2-1 victory, officially lifting the National U9 Football Championship – Toyota Cup 2025 trophy after reaching the final three times.

Having lost the match, U-9 VTĐN finished as runner-up this season, which is considered a historic achievement for the team, as this was their first-ever appearance in the final. VTĐN also received the Fair Play Award from Toyota, and two of their players (Le Ngoc Luan and Bach Tan Loc) were named among the tournament’s Top 10 Players.

The two teams sharing third place were U9 Song Lam Nghe An and U9 Hanoi FC. U9 Hanoi FC also received the Fair Play Award, presented by Dong Luc Group. Individual awards included: Best Goalkeeper for Le Van Dung (U9 VHTH), Best Player for Ha Son Binh (U9 VHTH), and Top Scorer for Cao Dang Khoi (U9 Thuan An Binh Duong with 12 goals).
