Opening of the 2025 National Table Tennis Tournament for Outstanding Young Players in Dong Nai

Over 300 excellent athletes from 20 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide are participating in the 2025 National Young, Junior, and Children's Excellent Table Tennis Players Championship, held in Dong Nai province.

On the evening of August 24, at the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center's gymnasium, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation, organized the opening of the 2025 National Young, Junior, and Children's Excellent Table Tennis Players Tournament. Attending the opening ceremony was Tran Canh Tuan, Vice President of the Vietnam Table Tennis Federation and Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Board.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Bui Anh Vu, Director of the Dong Nai Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center and Standing Deputy Head of the Organizing Board, stated that the 2025 National Young, Junior, and Children's Excellent Table Tennis Players Tournament gathers the most outstanding young talents of Vietnamese Table Tennis, and is expected to create exciting and dramatic matches.

The tournament is also an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn, and improve their professional skills, contributing to the development of Vietnamese Table Tennis to a new level.

The 2025 National Young, Junior, and Children's Excellent Table Tennis Players Championship takes place from August 23 to 31 at the Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center's gymnasium, attracting over 300 athletes from 20 provinces, cities, and sectors nationwide.

These are the best young, junior, and children's table tennis athletes nationwide, selected from the 2025 National Young, Junior, and Children's Table Tennis Championship held in July in Ninh Binh province. Among them are strong table tennis teams from units such as Public Security, Army, Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Hai Duong, and Thanh Hoa. Host Dong Nai is fielding 12 athletes in the tournament.

Athletes will compete for 34 sets of medals in events including: men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles in various age groups: 9 years old and under, 10-11, 12-13, 14-15, 16-18, 19-21, 22-23, with 16 male athletes and 16 female athletes per age group.

Competition format: Phase 1 consists of round-robin group play; Phase 2 consists of direct elimination.
