Nearly 1,800 athletes participated in 2025 Dong Nai Traditional Marathon

(ĐN)- Nearly 1,800 athletes from departments, agencies, armed forces, schools, localities within the province, and provinces in the Southeast region participated in the 2025 Dong Nai Traditional Cross-Country Race.

On the morning of May 18, at Tran Bien Temple of Literature, the Dong Nai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, in coordination with the Provincial Civil Servants' Union and Dong Nai Radio and Television Station, organized the 28th Dong Nai Traditional Cross-Country Race in 2025.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Pham Van Chien, Chairman of the Provincial Civil Servants' Union, stated that the Provincial Traditional Cross-Country Race is not only an opportunity for athletes to interact, compete, and improve their performance, but also to spread the movement of physical training, building a positive and healthy lifestyle in the community.

With diverse competition distances, from amateur to professional, the tournament provides an opportunity for professional athletes to compete, while also encouraging a large number of civil servants, public employees, workers, and people to participate, contributing to spreading the movement of physical training and improving community health.

The 28th Dong Nai Traditional Cross-Country Race 2025 attracted nearly 1,800 athletes from units under the Provincial Civil Servants' Union; departments, agencies, armed forces, schools, localities within the province, and provinces in the Southeast region.

At the end of the competition, athlete Truong Tri Tam (Binh Duong) won the men's 10km open category. Athlete Le Huu Loc of Dong Nai finished second, and athlete Le Van Tuan (Binh Duong) finished third.

As a result, Binh Duong won the men's team championship with a total score of 9. Host Dong Nai ranked second with a total score of 16 (Le Huu Loc: 2nd, Phan Tuan Truong: 6th, and Truong Nhat Linh: 8th), and Binh Thuan: third.

In the women's 5km open category, athlete Hoang Thi Ngoc Hoa of Binh Phuoc successfully defended her first-place position from the previous year. The two sisters, athletes Luu Thi Thanh Tam and Luu Thi Thanh Tinh of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, finished second and third, respectively.

With an additional athlete finishing fourth, Ba Ria - Vung Tau also won the women's team championship; second and third places belonged to Binh Phuoc and Binh Thuan.

Overall, host Dong Nai could not defend its first-place overall team title, ranking second with a total score of 47 (total men's and women's team scores). Binh Phuoc won first place overall with a total score of 45, and Binh Thuan: third (total score of 53).

In the provincial category, athlete Luu Van Sang (Dinh Quan district) won the men's youth 10km event, and Le Thi My Trang (Long Thanh district) won the women's youth 5km event.

Among them, Nguyen Phan Quang Binh (Thong Nhat district) finished first in the male youth category and Ka Duong (Vinh Cuu district) finished first in the female youth category. Athletes from Economic - Technical College No. 2 won both the male and female civil servant categories.

In the collective uniform run event, the Department of Agriculture and Environment won first prize in the Bloc of units directly under the Provincial Civil Servants' Union; Brigade 75: first prize in the Armed Forces Bloc and Bien Hoa City: first prize in the Bloc of districts, cities; agencies, departments, and mass organizations.
