Over 130 athletes compete at "Long Khanh - Thong Nhat - Bien Hoa" Cycling Championship

(ĐN) - In the morning of April 26, at the Victory Monument Park, the People's Committee of Long Khanh city, in coordination with the People's Committee of Thong Nhat district and the People's Committee of Bien Hoa city, organized the opening of the "Long Khanh - Thong Nhat - Bien Hoa" Cycling Championship 2025.

This event is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Xuan Loc Victory, the liberation of Long Khanh (April 21, 1975 - April 21, 2025) and the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Long Khanh City People's Committee Tang Quoc Lap said that the Long Khanh - Thong Nhat - Bien Hoa Cycling Race 2025 contributes to strengthening solidarity, cooperation, exchange, and mutual learning among localities. Through this, it promotes the development of the sports movement, creates a healthy and beneficial playground, and is an opportunity for clubs and groups who love cycling in the province to train, develop their sports spirit, and connect with the historical significance of the localities.

After the opening ceremony, 131 athletes from 14 units and cycling clubs in the province began competing in the race. The total route is over 50km, starting at the Victory Monument Park area (Xuan An ward, Long Khanh city) and finishing on Dong Khoi street (in front of Dong Nai Radio and Television Station), Bien Hoa city.

After more than 1 hour of competition, athlete Vu Minh Luan (Giant HTH Bien Hoa) won in the 18-39 age group, while athletes Pham Khanh Duy (Thong Nhat district) and Nguyen Quoc Viet (Hoang Dental - Trang Bom) finished second and third respectively. The Giant HTH Bien Hoa team won the team first prize, Hoang Dental - Trang Bom won the second prize, and Tan Trieu Vinh Cuu 1 won the third prize.

Meanwhile, in the 40-55 age group, athletes Vo Van Thang and Nguyen Thanh Son (Tan Trieu Vinh Cuu 1) finished first and third respectively; athlete Le Van Lam (Giant HTH Bien Hoa) won second place. This result helped Tan Trieu Vinh Cuu 1 win the team first prize, Dinh Quan district won the second prize, and Tam Hiep Bien Hoa Club won the third prize.

At the closing ceremony held at Duong Tu Giang Park (Bien Hoa city), the organizing committee awarded 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes, 2 third prizes, and 14 consolation prizes to athletes with high individual achievements; and also awarded 6 team prizes (first, second, third) to the units in the 2 groups.
