Dong Nai competing at National Youth Weightlifting Championship 2025

(ĐN) - Nearly 250 male and female athletes from 31 delegations of provinces, cities, and sectors across the country will compete in the National Youth Weightlifting Championship 2025 held in Dak Lak province.  

 

On March 30, the Vietnam Weightlifting and Bodybuilding Federation (General Department of Sports and Physical Training, Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) coordinated with the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Dak Lak to inaugurate the National Youth Weightlifting Championship 2025, taking place at the Dak Lak Sports Center.  

The tournament is an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn, compete, and improve their professional skills. Through this, the organizing committee can discover and select outstanding athletes for training and supplementation into the national weightlifting team.  

This year's tournament brings together 236 male and female athletes from 31 delegations of provinces, cities, and sectors across the country, including: An Giang, Bac Giang, Bac Lieu, Bac Ninh, Can Tho, People's Police, Da Nang, Dak Lak, Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Hanoi, Hai Duong, Hai Phong, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Khanh Hoa, Kien Giang, Lam Dong, Lang Son, Lao Cai, Nghe An, Ninh Binh, Quang Binh, Quang Ninh, Quang Tri, Soc Trang, Son La, Thai Nguyen, Thanh Hoa, Tien Giang, and Ho Chi Minh City. Dong Nai participates in the tournament with 11 young athletes from the Provincial Sports Gifted High School.  

At the tournament, athletes compete in the following weight categories: 40kg, 45kg, 49kg, 55kg, 59kg, and over 59kg (for females); 49kg, 55kg, 61kg, 67kg, 73kg, and over 73kg (for males).  

After the opening ceremony, athletes compete in the following categories: female, weight class 40kg, ages 13-14, ages 15-16.  

The tournament is expected to conclude on April 4.
