On February 1 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), a working delegation led by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh visited and extended Lunar New Year greetings to officials, workers, employees, and laborers at the construction site of the Long Thanh International Airport project.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh encouraged, motivated spirits, and presented Tet gifts to the labor workers constructing the Long Thanh Airport project on February 1.
At the same time, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected the progress and visited, wished Tet greetings to officials and laborers at the construction site of the Ring Road 3 project - Ho Chi Minh City at the Nhon Trach Bridge site in Dong Nai. Participating were Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha and leaders of relevant ministries and sectors. On the side of Dong Nai, the delegation was received and worked with Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Vu Hong Van; Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc, along with leaders of the Provincial People's Council, Provincial People's Committee, and relevant departments, sectors, and localities.
Efforts to basically complete Long Thanh Airport before December 31, 2025
The Long Thanh Airport project consists of 4 component projects: Component Project 1 (offices of state agencies), Component Project 2 (flight management facilities), Component Project 3 (essential facilities), Component Project 4 (ground service facilities). According to the provincial People's Committee, for the Long Thanh Airport project, the total number of households to be considered and arranged for resettlement is nearly 5,500 households. To date, Dong Nai has completed the supplementary items of Component Project 1. For the land of the two traffic routes connecting T1 and T2, the province has handed over the entire land area.

At the working session with Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc proposed that the government considers implementing the transportation route connecting Tan Son Nhat Airport and Long Thanh Airport, expanding the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay highway. Currently, Dong Nai is implementing 2 routes connecting to Long Thanh Airport and continues to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, and Binh Duong to accelerate the progress of implementing highway projects, Ring Road 4 - Ho Chi Minh City to connect transportation with Long Thanh Airport.
According to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Long Thanh Airport must be basically completed by the end of 2025. Ministries, sectors, localities, units, and the Airports Corporation of Vietnam (ACV) must urgently carry out the Prime Minister's directives from the meeting on January 25 and according to their functions, duties, and powers; review and rebuild the Gantt chart for progress according to objectives to implement work and monitor, check, and supervise the investment construction process of the project, timely handling obstacles and arising issues within their authority, reporting urgent issues exceeding their authority.

Regarding materials, the Prime Minister requested that next week, Dong Nai needs to meet with ministries, sectors, investors, and contractors to thoroughly resolve obstacles regarding the supply of materials directly to contractors without intermediaries; revoke mines that have expired, or operate improperly, taking advantage of the situation to hoard goods, profit, and raise prices, strictly handling cases to deter.Prime Minister PHAM MINH CHINH emphasized that the Long Thanh International Airport project is a nationally important project, the largest airport project in our country, with significant importance, especially in the context of Tan Son Nhat Airport being overloaded. Completing Long Thanh Airport will also effectively celebrate the XIV National Congress of the Party and major holidays in 2025.
Regarding this issue, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vo Tan Duc stated that the provincial government will coordinate with ACV and related units to find solutions to ensure sufficient supply of land and construction materials for key projects, including Long Thanh Airport.
Prime Minister also assigned Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha to convene monthly meetings with relevant parties to expedite, direct, and address arising issues. The Prime Minister emphasized that clear assignments of individuals, tasks, timelines, responsibilities, and deliverables are required, along with regular inspections, timely rewards, and disciplinary actions in accordance with the regulations of the Party and State.
