(ĐN)- The 9th Ong Pagoda Festival was opened on Monday with the attendance of Dong Nai provincial leaders and representatives of departments, sectors and localities from across the province , along with a large number of visitors.
During four-day event, many activities will be held, such as unicorn-lion-dragon dance, traditional music performance, calligraphy performance, etc.
The festival aims to contemplate and worship, recall ancestors, and pray for safety and prosperity for the country and people.
Ong Pagoda is located at Hiep Hoa commune, Bien Hoa city. It was built in 1684 by the Chinese Community in Cu Lao Pho (Pho isle). At first, it was named Quan De Pagoda, and later renamed That Phu Co Temple (or Ong Pagoda). In 2001, Ong Pagoda was listed as national cultural heritage.
