Furthermore, the team also hopes to make it to the quarterfinals of the 2023 AFC Asian Cup and the final round of the 2027 AFC Asian Cup.
The VFF has also requested that the men's team reach the finals of the AFF Cup in 2022, 2024, and 2026, as well as winning at least once.
Meanwhile, the national men's futsal team is anticipated to be among the top three in Southeast Asia and qualify for the final round of the AFC Futsal Asian Cup in 2024 and 2026. Moreover, the VFF also requested that the team qualify for the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup finals.
For the Vietnamese national women's football team, the VFF is targeting being among the top six sides in Asia and gaining respectable results at the 2023 FIFA World Cup finals.
The team is also aiming to defend their Southeast Asian championship title and the SEA Games championship title in both 2023 and 2025.
