Accordinly, Linh defeated Thai rival Nutnalin Rattanapanuwong n the second round and will face Gao Fang Jie of China in the quarterfinal match.
Elsewhere, her teammate Vu Thi Trang are also through to the quarterfinal round.
In the men’s singles event, Nguyen Tien Minh and Nguyen Hai Dang progressed to the third round.
The tournament is being jointly held by Da Nang’s Department of Culture and Sports, the Vietnam Badminton Federation (VBF), the Badminton World Federation (BWF), and the Badminton Asia (BA), with the event scheduled to last through to November 6.
