(ĐN) -Vietnamese top 1 shutler Nguyen Thuy Linh for the first time has won the badminton tournament Yonex Belgian International 2022.

Linh, a member of Dong Nai team, defeated Japanese Hirari Mizui, 135th in the world ranking, in 21-19, 21-16 in the women's final on September 17 in Leuven.
Linh, the world No 54, was seeded No. 5 at the tournament. She met almost no difficulty to beat the world No. 135 in 49 minutes.
The Vietnamese set her personal record as she did not lose any set at the tournament.
This is Linh's seventh title in an international event, after winning titles at the Nepal 2016, Mongolia 2017, Laos 2017, Italia 2017 and Bangladesh in 2018 and 2019.
The win has helped Linh be back into the top 50 in the world ranking. After the tournament, Linh will return home and take part in the Viet Nam Open in late September in HCM City.
