At the end of the tournament, martial artists of Dong Nai province scored two gold, one silver and one bronze medals to finish 4th in the event for male martial artists. The gold medals were won by Tran Chi Nguyen and Pham Hong Phuc.
The event attracted the participation of over 400 athletes from 35 teams from across the country, competing for 43 sets of medals in different weight categories for both men and women.
Kickboxing is a group of stand-up combat sports based on kicking and punching, historically developed from karate, muay Thai, Kun Khmer and boxing. Kickboxing is practiced for self-defense, general fitness, or as a contact sport.
