Forbes has announced a list of the 40 most powerful people in the Republic of Korea (RoK), with the head coach of the Vietnamese men's national football team Park Hang-seo being featured in the list.

According to Forbes, Park Hang-seo ranks 38th out of the Top 40 most influential people in the RoK after increasing his profile in his home country following many successful years coaching the Vietnamese national football team.

As head coach of the Vietnam men’s national football team, Park Hang-seo has led the team to some excellent results in recent years. Some notable successes include claiming a runner-up spot at the AFC U23 Championship 2018, winning both the AFF Cup 2018 and SEA Games 30 in 2019, coming among the Top 4 of the Asian Games 2018, and reaching the quarter finals of the Asian Cup.

Figures from the entertainment industry in the RoK dominate the top of the list, with K-pop band BTS at number one, whilst other bands including BLACKPINK and TWICE feature in third and ninth places, respectively.

Tottenham Hotspurs forward Son Heung-min ranks in fourth place, followed by director Bong Joon-ho whose film Parasite recently won an Oscar.

Another notable face to feature in the list is up-and-coming football prodigy Lee Kang-in, a young midfielder for Valencia FC.

Forbes bases its list on data collected in fields such as communication, radio, television, and social media to offer a glimpse of the most influential names in society.
