The event has a total prize fund of 25,000 USD and belongs to the international challenge system of the World Badminton Federation. The best athletes will gain points to qualify for the Olympics.
Linh of Dong Nai province, world No 47, was defeated by Yukino Nakai of Japan, world No 156, 2-0 (21-13, 21-18) in the final.
With this result, Linh has a chance to get ahead of her teammate Vu Thi Trang, who is world No 46, in the world rankings to be announced this week. They are competing for a ticket to the Tokyo 2020 Olympics.
