SPOTV, a Korean non-'free-to-air' broadcaster that are well known for showing quality sports content, has decided to purchase the rights to broadcast the upcoming World Cup 2022 qualifier between Vietnam and the UAE in the Asian zone’s second qualification round.

This move can be attributed to the success of head coach Park Hang-seo who has led the Vietnamese football team to great success during his tenure. Notable achievements in 2018 under Park Hang-seo include a second place finish at the AFC U23 Championship, winning the AFF Championship, along with a first ever top four finish at the Asian Games.

The success of their fellow countryman has brought great pride to Korean football fans, with many now keen to follow his work with the Vietnamese national team.

Previously, Seoul Broadcasting System, one of the Republic of Korea’s largest TV channels, had purchased the rights to broadcast all of the Vietnam men’s national football team’s matches during the AFF Suzuki Cup 2018’s group stage.

Most notably, the clash between Vietnam and Malaysia reached a record 28.4 per cent of viewers when broadcast on the Korean TV channel.

The fixture between Vietnam and the UAE will be held on November 14 at 20:00 (Hanoi time), or at 22:00 ( Seoul time).

Ahead of the crunch tie, the UAE team plan to fly to Vietnam on November 13 to prepare for the match.
