Dong Nai wins gold at ongoing National Sport Games for Disabled Athletes

(ĐN)- The National Sport Games for Disabled Athletes kicked off last night in Thai Nguyen province, attracting 321 officials, coaches and athletes from 17 provinces and cities nationwide, including Dong Nai province.

 

(ĐN)- The National Sport Games for Disabled Athletes kicked off last night in Thai Nguyen province, attracting 321 officials, coaches and athletes from 17 provinces and cities nationwide, including Dong Nai province.

The athletes are competing in table tennis, badminton, weightlifting, chess and boccia.

On the first day of the competition, athletes from Dong Nai won one gold and one silver in weightlifting event. The gold medal was earned by Tran Thi Chau in 67-86 weight category.

The tournament aims to promote physical health and encourage the disabled to participate in sports to improve health, confidence and social integration. Top athletes will be selected to compete in the 10th Paragames that will be held in the Philippines in 2020, as well as other international events.

The competition lasts until on October 11.
